Tylvalosin tartrate , previously known as acetylisovaleryl tylosin (TAT), is a macrolide antibiotic.
Tylvalosin has antibacterial activity against a variety of Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus, Micrococcus, Microbacterium, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Aerococcus spp., Campylobacter, Enterococcus chemicalbookbook, Streptococcus, Arthrobacter and Clostridium; it also has good antibacterial activity against Mycoplasma and works better at high concentrations; but has no effect on most Gram-negative bacteria.
